Speakers:
Hamja Ahsan is founder curator of DIY Cultures festival. He will be speaking on prison zines. As brother of Talha Ahsan, he will talk of prison poetry in campaigning against extradition and solitary confinement. Shortlisted for LIberty Human Rights Award.

Matthew Meadows is art editor Not Shut Up magazine – UK leading prisoner arts magazine, which published several of Talha’s poems. He is author of the Insider Art on the use of art in prisoner rehabilitation. He will be speaking on New Years Eve prison vigils at HMP Brixton prison, teaching art in prisons and curating prisoner art.

Dorigen Hammond is a writer, arts and film producer who also works as a writer in residence in prisons and secure settings. She is part of Writers in Prison Foundation and produces the Sony Award winning radio show: Word Up with the Prison Radio Association which showcases creative writing by prisoners across the UK. She will be speaking about her experience of working in prisons and the power of the written and spoken word as a positive force for change and engagement in this context.

Cerie Buillivant is a filmmaker and activist on human rights abuses under the the war on terror. He is Liberty Human Rights Award winner for speaking out against the abusive use control orders. He is a media Spokesman for CAGE UK. He will be speaking on Moazzam Begg and building solidarity.

Hilary Aked is a journalist and is currently writing a PHD on the Israel lobby. She will talk about the Prisonletter letter writing circle and the Real Student Rights group working against campus McCarthyite attempt to stigmatise Prisoner solidarity by neo-con think tanks.
